Three Possible Business Ideas

The first idea I have is derived from the revival of Return to Dark Tower, an older, complex board game. (link: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/restorationgames/return-to-dark-tower/) I really like the idea of software enhanced and Bluetooth supported board games. My potential board game would revolve around a small casket-looking game piece that has a Bluetooth receiver, some LED lighting, and a scanner. It could possibly resemble the Ark of the Covenant from Raiders of the Lost Ark. The players would get to choose between four factions that all need the casket to be in their possession by the end of the game.

The main draw of the game would be the casket itself. The casket would have inserts for small cards that the players possess. At the end of each phase of the game, the casket would scan a QR code on the card that shows the next event on the device connected to the casket via Bluetooth. The cards can have translucent designs on them so when the scan is activated LED lights shine through the translucent shapes on the cards to reveal a symbol. The symbol will also display on the connected device's screen. The symbol could represent the event type, and then display everything tied to it like consequences and rules.

Why would it sell? The flair of it makes it attractive. Since every player has a different way to affect the game at each phase, it always feels fresh. Added bits like prompts and lights from the casket make it interesting and fun to see what would happen next. Also, since most of the rules can be read from the application during the game, the amount of set up and learning can be fairly small making it approachable for players who are intimidated by complex board games.

How to make it? 3d printing would be able to cover most of the work, but specially sized cards with QR codes and translucent material would up the cost.

The game could be expanded easily since the software can just be added on to and more decks of cards can be added to increase the complexity.

The second idea I have is a subscription-based application for businesses or public events that want to hire/request musicians and crew for shows. It would function from a database that professionals can sign up with their info and expertise for people to view. The purpose of it would be to cut management costs and make organizing events extremely fast and easy. The main draw would be the ease of communication between officials in charge of public event areas so that the only hassle would be submitting and accepting the request sent to an event organizer. The scope of it could range from professional events to public get-togethers for artists to collaborate and share/sell their art. Part of its use would be to promote their events through social media.

Why would it work? It would make events happen more often because people who need a "sound guy" could just look through the "sound guy" database and request one. The ease of submitting and accepting an event request would be the entire reason for using the software so that event organizers and artists only really have to worry about submitting and accepting requests.

The third idea is a combination of Laser Tag and the old show Legends of the Hidden Temple. Two teams work through various puzzle rooms while battling each other in laser tag. Players who get hit with lasers too many times have to go back to a starting zone, but when a team has more active players than another the puzzle items move farther away from their starting zone.

Why would it work? Having multiple room configurations that switch each weekend would make it interesting and attractive. Additionally, having them themed around public holidays would make it attractive. Since it resembles a sport, having food accessible nearby would also promote the business.

What's needed? Scheduling for parties would be a must, but also having a sign-up sheet on a website would promote ease of access. There would need to be days for drop-ins only so people could get a taste of it individually. Having multiple sets of laser tag equipment would also be needed in case something breaks. Legal agreements for accidents and such could be a possible setback. On-site first aid would also be needed.
